My journey as a Cloud Engineering Intern
Designing and documenting an Azure Network Revamp with a strong focus on governance and security.
Introduction
During my internship at MultiMinds, I had the opportunity to work on a hands-on graduation project focused on cloud infrastructure and governance within Microsoft Azure. From the very beginning, I was welcomed into an open and supportive team environment, where knowledge sharing and collaboration are a natural part of daily work.
Working on an Azure Network Revamp
The core of my internship revolved around an Azure Network Revamp. The goal of this project was to design a structured migration plan for an existing Azure environment towards a new, governance-driven architecture. This included working with concepts such as Azure Landing Zones, management groups, subscriptions, policies, role-based access control, and naming conventions.
From analysis to documentation
Throughout the internship, I was responsible for analysing the existing cloud environment, documenting resources, and designing a future-proof architecture that aligns with best practices in security, scalability, and governance. I translated these designs into clear technical documentation, including architecture overviews, migration steps, security considerations, and testing approaches. This allowed me to combine technical work with structured documentation, which is essential in real-world IT projects.
Learning through real-world challenges
What I appreciated most during my time at MultiMinds was the level of trust and responsibility I received as an intern. I was encouraged to think independently, ask critical questions, and justify architectural decisions, while always being able to rely on guidance from my mentor when needed. This helped me grow not only technically, but also professionally.
Looking back on my internship experience
Looking back, this internship gave me valuable experience in cloud architecture, Azure governance, and enterprise-level documentation. It strengthened my interest in cloud and infrastructure engineering and provided a strong foundation for my future career in IT.
